Your story is yours: how StoryNova handles your data

StoryNova does not train on your stories, runs inference on a confidential network, and lets you delete every save. What we store, and what we never do.

Interactive fiction is personal. You make choices you would not make in public and read things you would not read aloud. This page states plainly what StoryNova does with that.

We do not train on your stories

Your turns, your choices and your free-text actions are used to play your story and for nothing else. StoryNova does not fine-tune models on player content and does not sell it. We keep aggregate counters (turns per day, latency, error rates) to run the service; those contain no story text.

Where inference runs

Narration runs on LibertAI, an inference network on Aleph Cloud designed for confidential computing: model calls are processed in isolated environments rather than on a general-purpose shared cloud, and LibertAI does not retain prompts for training. The same stack powers other consumer products; if you want the technical detail, LibertAI publishes it.

Images are generated through the same provider and cached by a content hash so the same scene is never generated twice.

What we store

  • Your account: an email if you signed in with a magic link or Google, or nothing but a display name if you play as a guest.
  • Your saves: each story session with its turns, so you can resume exactly where you left off and read your story log.
  • Your reader settings: text speed, autoplay, mute, stored in your browser, not on our servers.
  • A local copy of the stories you play, kept in your browser so the Library can show them offline; it stays on that device, and each entry can be removed from the Library page.
  • Nothing else: no ad identifiers and no advertising trackers, on any page. A cookie-free analytics script counts page views and stores no personal data and no story text.

Export and delete

Every save can be deleted from your account page, and deleting it removes its turns. Export of your full story log in a readable format is part of the current release plan; until it ships, the story log is readable in full inside the app.

Ratings and adults

Stories are rated all, teen or mature. Mature stories are hidden until you confirm you are an adult, and that confirmation is stored on your account. The narrator is instructed with the exact rating of the story you are playing.

Creators

Public scenarios can be mirrored to Aleph Cloud, a permanent decentralised store, so a creator's published work cannot be lost; player data is never mirrored.
